Half of a blink

Turkey Vulture

I got a perfect shot when the nictitating membrane was over the eye. Makes a vulture look that much creeper!

The nictitating membrane sweeps across the eye sideways, this lid is a thin, translucent fold of skin that moistens and cleans the eye and protects it from wind and bright light.
