Many people who live in Bangkok wear face masks as a protection against the polluted air. The masks are available in many colours, sizes and prints.
The one this man, who is working for the Bangkok metrosystem, is wearing came with the jobdescription.

Great photo! It's amazing how the US is criticized so ruthlessly, mostly by it's own citizens. Yet we are one of, if not the most environmentally conscious countries.

Gijs I am an Englishman although I have been living in Thailand for some time now. I would like to say that sometimes Thai people wear these masks simply because they have a cold and are worried about spreading their germs. Of course don't get me wrong Bangkok is also a very polluted city.
