A woman in Prenter Hollow, West Virginia, holds her contaminated water supplied, widely speculated to be the cause of precarious nearby mining practices.

    I live in this area, and this shows the struggle that we have everyday on an issue that is much more complicated than some think. To mine or not to mine, company vs the people, tradition vs new practices. Thank you for shedding light to others not from this area about what we deal with.

    Wow! This photo is a huge testament to a largely ignored area of our nation. In our "land of plenty" too many have too little and are grossly ill -treated.
