Great message! This is the one that I would have picked for the democracy theme. My brother and sister-in-law are both in the service and have seen Iraq and Afganistan 4 times in the last 5 years...they agree. Thanks for speaking up for them. Sometimes the way to honor our troops is not by honoring the war they are in. Awesome shot!!

Might help to make it b&w. The color kind of takes away from it, for me at least. Also, a more simple background would help(maybe just a wall of some sort). Trees like that tend to be distracting. None-the-less, great start. Nice basic composition. Your message is well communicated in this image while still keeping the viewer's interest in tact.
