Almost 1000 children work in the Cerro Rico silver mine in Potosi, Bolivia. With no security, just a helmet and a pair of boots, this children begin to work at 12 or 13 years old. The work is hard and risky and many boys catch pulmonary and respiratory deseases. Many of this children lose their fathers into the mine and must work to support their families.
