Defiance

I came across this sad little plant one day that had been carelessly painted over when the billboard that it grows alongside got a new coat of paint. This poignant little plant stands strong, seemingly in an effort to defy human encroachment on its surroundings. Man's presence on earth leaves imprints - some are temporary like a footprint in the sand, while others are more severe like clearcutting of forests to provide lumber, fuel or grazing area for livestock. This image illustrates our impact on the environment on a small scale, but reminds us that every action we take has consequences on the world around us. In the same way, even the smallest efforts put forth by us can help preserve our planet.

within the huge impacts that humans cause on earth, we tend to forget the small every day impacts, which speak for absolute carelessness and
alienation from nature -
