Actor Roy Scheider passed away recently.I worked on a film with him where he played a photo journalist and discovers a man on death row did not do the crime. After the first day of shooting i discoverd he had no clue how to work a camera.I soon became his Technical Advisor...Rest in peace..a very good man.

Nice. I actually had one posted for him on my Flickr page. He's one of my favorite actors, and I underrated, I think - some great, gritty films of the '70s - The 7-Ups, All That Jazz, and of course Jaws.
Rest In Peace, indeed. -

tell me you have this hanging on your wall in your studio. brilliant portrait. love the crop, leaving just enough to let us know it's our man Roy.

..and have to add, the b&w is so much more intimate than your color version of this. Love it.

Roy Scheider was one of the truly great actors of the 20th century. This is one of the best still pictures I have ever seen of him. Great shot.

I would have advised him to close the eye that he's not looking through the viewfinder with. But I guess this makes a better portrait.
