America at its best? - Part 2

I was going for 2 things with these shots….

1) I tried to do a photojournalistic / exposé shot with this one. I was going for a “Big business assisting…or just turning a blind eye to Undocumented workers / Illegal Aliens” type of picture. I like how the huge corporate sign overpowers the shot with the workers almost seeking shelter under it.

2) I wanted to see how fast I was stereotyped as a “racist” for assuming these were “Undocumented workers / Illegal Aliens”

Let me know how I did.

How do you know these are illegals? Do you just assume that anyone who is latino is illegal?

I like the picture, I think the message came across well. I used to work for Depot. The people that stand out front of the store, like these guys aren't affiliated with Depot. They just know that a lot of contractors and such shop there.

In answer to K carp, the challenge was to take a "stereotypical "kind of picture. Whether the men in the picture are illegal or not, the picture fits the stereotype of what we think illegals look like. Good job

I think you certainly captured the theme well with this shot.

I didn't stereotype you as being racist, rather that you were stereotyping tfe workers as being illegal. Is that close?

I worked personally with some illegal's, one became a good friend and i didn't even know he was illegal until i made a remark about illegal's....whoops, haha, he was cool with it though. About the picture though, Very nicely documented. Very typical. And that's NOT being racist.
