Walking along in NYC, I was heading into an art gallery when all of a sudden, a glimpse of orange in my peripheral vision caught my eye. I looked down and found myself staring at a "Star Trek" novel lying by the sidewalk. Dirty, warped, and soaked through, I began wondering if someone had accidentally dropped it or if they'd intentionally discarded it into the icy gutter. Either way, lying there alone and lonely, I thought the composition was fascinating and took a picture.
