These are so strong. I gotta say that nudes in terms of photographs/art tend to bore me silly as the artist usually uses the fact the subject is nude (or to titillate the viewer) as the point of the work. But when nudity works (as through the camera lens of Carl W. Nunn!) and the nudity, the exploration of the uncovered human form, is crucial to the work, but is not the end all, boredom is banished. Much, much else is going on thematically and aesthetically here. In this series of shots, for me, you are perfectly using the camera to convey your view, your artistic mind's eye, not simply to capture an image. And for that, I thank you for your talent.

Steven has so eloquently explained things, there's little left that needs explaining. Sometimes what you can't see is as important as what you can. The shadows and light play here, as well as the others and much of you work for that matter, is crucial and story telling. You continue to inspire me Mr C.W Nunn.

I agree with Fudgie: Steven's review is dead on. I'd just like to add my tiny observation about Carl's series: there are always elements of power and impotence in sexuality, and these pictures work precisely because of the challenges they issue while acknowledging that there will always be defeat when sexual energy is expressed, if not at the moment of expression almost certainly later when it is remembered. Thanks for the pix here, Carl. They seem to balance out so much more the whole JPG gallery. A singular effort!

This, and all of your pix depicting sex and power, are beautiful. I say power because that is what your images convey. They are not fluffy, airbrushed shots of nudes girls; they exude attitudes of identity, unabashed selfhood, and fearlessness before the naked lens of your camera. I love the black women in these shots - she takes no prisoners. Her nudity does not render her vulnerable, just very real and human.
