Drinking Water

Here I am filling a water jug from a natural aquafir. My parents' farm uses a well for water, which is alright for washing and plumbing, but has too much sulfur and iron oxide to be drinkable. Like many others in the area, we get drinking water from this aquafir. It's basically a pipe sticking out of the side of a mountain, along the side of a windy country road.
Most of us know the environmental impact of bottled water; not just in the disposable plastic packaging, but in the trucking and shipping it takes to move from source to destination. Getting the water from an aquafir negates that negative impact, and as you can see in the photo, we even reuse plastic jugs to store the water.
