As far as Anoles go, this is a large adult. I suspect it is a male. He was halfway out of his skin - I don't know whether he was eating it (protein) or if he was pulling pieces off. I found bits of it here and there on the rough spots on the dock. Must have felt good to get it off. By the time I left the dock, and playing hide and seek with him, he was nearly free of it except for one small piece in back of a leg.

    reminds me of my childhood.....awesome feeling when i saw this image..... i would spend my entire day catching lizards (releasing them afterwards) and the green anole was the prize catch of em' all......very cool image!
