Backhoe, Greenpoint
The Terminal Market Warehouse along the East River is demolished after a massive fire which threatened to destroy a large section of Greenpoint. The contents of the warehouse at time of destruction, and the nature of contaminants released by the fire was unknown. From a series on land use in North Brooklyn and the proximity of sources of industrial contamination to residential areas. Colors are not manipulated, they are the result of several-hour exposures in various lighting/weather conditions.
In the Brooklyn Nights photo essay.

There is a great feeling of rawness and expectation about this image,as if something is still and quiet now, but will all too soon stir into life when daylight comes.Brilliant Shot!
