Shot from Behind
We are individuals. It does not matter if one is a soldier who has tens of thousands of brothers-in-arms around him or her; ultimately, each of us walks alone into a fog of uncertainty.
This is a shot that I took in Baghdad, Iraq. This soldier was on the way to the mail trailer on the base we both lived on, in the hope that he had received some letter from home. This time he was lucky on two counts: he did have mail waiting for him, and the guy who shot him from behind was a friend who was only using a camera.
I edited the image to enhance the dramatic qualities of the shot, but the hue of the fog/dust is real.

I really like the eerie atmospheric quality of this picture.

Great! Colours (in fact, the duotone), and the miz of textures from tthe foreground, the fog, and those concrete walls
