Magical Sky (Climax)
Faith causes magic to happen.
_______
On 14 March just after 5 pm, the sun went behind a big cloud and formed a silver lining. It was nice but no big deal. But since I had my camera with me, I took some shots.
Then I noticed a glowing disc above the cloud. As I stood and watched – and clicked away – the sky turned magical,
I felt so blessed to have had this wonderful experience.
______
Look out for the full story behind Magical Sky, coming out this weekend, August 23.

Great shot Richard, I love it. Don't hold me to this but I think I remember hearing that the reason for all the colour in the clouds like this is actually ice . I have seen the same thing form in a big halo around the moon at night occasionally and I know that when that happens it is caused by ice crystals.

Thanks Mal for the ice explanation. Shall I quote you if some meteorologist challenges me ;-) But what you say is probably correct.

Certainly NOT the Northern Lights. These images were captured in Singapore, which is almost right on the Equator (1 deg few minutes north of it).
The Northern lights did appear once in Singapore, however. This was back in the 1950s and it earned Singapore a place in the Guiness Book of Records for being the most Southerly location where the Northern lights ever appeared.
