This was actually shot in the town of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. They renamed the town (originally called Mauch Chunk) in honor of the native American athlete. The town asked Jim's family if they could rebury his remains in Mauch Chunk, whereby they would remain the town in his name. They needed a way to start a tourism industry. It worked. It's widely believed that Jim Thorpe never stepped foot in the actual town. He was from Oklahoma.
