Widow's Nest

There was a great black widow population at our ranch in North Texas. It was generally deemed necessary to check every item left outside before lifting it, or moving it. Thank goodness I looked before lifting this gas can, for there was a widow, waiting for prey. I immortalized this one in this shot, and then, liberated it to a higher life form. Better safe than sorry, I'm afraid.

What a wonderful discovery - did you ever see Dennis Baluer's disocvery of a mom and egg sacs and how he wrestled with the dilemna of what to do, or not do?

Great shot! I am so glad we do not have things like that in the U.K.
