This is an Australian Green Tree Python photographed at the Melbourne Zoo in Australia.
There were two main obstacles trying to get this image:
1. I had to shoot through glass covered with filthy kid sized fingerprints all over it; and
2. Because it was in the reptile enclosure I had to use my flash in order to take this one hand-held.
As a result, a lot of mum's weren't happy with my flash popping off quite frequently and they weren't shy about voicing there disapproval!
My kids were embarrassed but I did what I had to in order to get the shot I was after... I'm hard core!
The fact that I had to run to the exit with a mob of angry, handbag-swinging mothers behind me doesn't bother me so much but the language... geez, where did grandma learn those word!?
I've been told by many a snake officiado that this is one of the "prettiest" snakes on the planet... I'll leave it up to you to decide though.

Nice detail in the scales. I have a green tree python pic in the "color theory" theme.
