Board and Batten construction places this barn at the late 1800's which is pretty much as old as you get round here in New Zealand. Settlers used board and batten because it was easy to do. Most settlers arrived from 1830's onwards peaking in the late 1800's. From then on a steady trickle of migrants. I took this with Julie Stiefel in mind.
