St George's Hall, Liverpool

This is a photo of St. George's Hall in Liverpool which many architectural critics believe to be one of the finest neoclassical buildings in the world.

The architect, Harvey Lonsdale Elmes , was only 25 years old when he won the commission yet he never saw it completed as he died of consumption at the age of 34.
