Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

This dolphin at the entrance of the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center in Virginia Beach was dedicated to the victims of the massacre at Virginia Tech in April 2007. This one is for my son, Jan, who is a VT alumnus. Go Hokies!

As a VT alum myself, please give your son a "Go Hokies!" from me too.
