My wife recently bought me "Seeing Charleston: a field guide to photographing a world-class city" by Ron Anton Rocz and one of his suggestions was "Silhouettes: meter the light in the far background, e.g. a sunrise with color. This will cause the foreground subject matter to appear blackā€¦use the spot meter feature." I have no idea if I spot metered this or not, but I can see my sensor needs cleaning.

My older brother RON, part of a pair of twins, was killed in Baton Rouge when a log from a logging truck hit him sqaure on and killed him. It was closed casket. He loved Charleston, and, growing up in Louisiana, he loved the water. When I saw this title, and the pic, my heart skipped a beat. This is lovely, and that's of whom it reminds me.
