Despite all the talk of rebuilding and renewal, N'awlins remains destitute in many areas. I tool this picture when I lived in New Orleans with my sister. This was a year after Katrina. Sadly, this is only about a mile from the French Quarter, where you'd think life goes on as usual (it does, for the tourists), but there are ghost-towns all around.
