IF U ONLY KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU

I started taking photos in september 2007. before that i had no idea about photography what so ever..
I did not know what is the shutter speed what is the apperature and the biggest mystery was ISO..
I joined JPGMAG and I learned all what I learned here solo.
when this theme opened i could not think but of one person on JPGMAG.
I was interetsed in shooting people..and they were the hardest to capture..
Then I met Charles Rushton on JPGMAG. He was patient enough to teach me from scratch..
from him I learned the importance of the side lighting, the diagonals, the focus on the eyes, the story behind the portraits, the mood, the feeling, the composition and all..
now..
when ever I take a portraits i upload it here and wait...
if Charles comments on it I know i did a good job.. I feel happy.
I ordered his portraits book from the states i studied every single detail..i tried to copy him..
ALL MY PORTRAITS ARE ALWAYS AND WILL ALWAYS BE DEDICTAED TO HIM. I HOPE ONE DAY I WILL BE ABLE TO PAY HIM BACK.

Ten Years ago my grand mother knew that the man who supported her for her life needs her support.
They kept their life chained like the pearls on her neck..precious but sometimes tight.

Incredible. If the closed eyes are by chance -- incredible luck, but also in incredible choice to use the shot, in any event. If the closed eyes were at your request, again, incredible choice. The capture of your grandfather in the shot is also just wonderful - the light in his eyes and as it captures the white in his whiskers is excellent. The connection between them, which you've captured, is damn good, indeed.
Nice work. -

I get the impression from both faces that they are saying "I am still here," each in his own way. I think the human spirit is never broken until a person decides to let it go, and these people are still so full of spirit that they have caused you to take this picture and show it here, as surely as gravity brings an apple from the sky to the ground, as surely as affection attracts a kiss. Why am I so sure that this was their reward for posing, a kiss? Loaded with love as all kisses are but also perhaps tinted with your relief that they are both still here, reflecting your very own spirit? I am sure they are both happy and proud that this picture is here, Wissam, but I bet the fact that you captured it is more important to them than if the Sun rises tomorrow.

How can I compete with what Seanie said...perfectly put. This picture exudes a combination of sadness, passion, and hope that it nearly brings me to tears. You out-did yourself on this portrait Wissam and captured the emotion too well.

Really magnificent. In my origins (I'm a mediterranean man) there are olive trees, almonds, fields,. Have you ever harvest the olives and the almonds with a stick? Rain the plants (letuces, tomatoes and so) at firs hour in the morning. Smell the flavours of roses and yasmin at night? yes they are my origins, meavy you know all this Wissam.

after reading the meaning of the names, i must say they work in the pic-his eyes are unequalled and and she is both inward and outwardly beautiful for standing beside him, i liked your story a lot

For so many reasons, this is a beautiful portrait Wissam. I feel the names are relected here. Wahid's beautiful wise-looking eyes have learned much from his personal hardship that could not have been easy; his face I feel tells a story of hardship yet a love; Jamal is a beautiful name, so common sense that it means beauty; She is a beautiful woman & has to be a strong one to in order to support her husband in the times needed; this portrait does show much love, you have a wonderful way of bringing this out in your photos; I could sit & look into Wahid eyes endlessly, they seem to speak so much to me in this portrait

I would love to learn tips from Charles...he is an amazing photographer. I feel the same way you do...a comment from Charles or an add to his favorites is validation for me that I took a good photo. He's a great source of inspiration for me too, as are you. You learned a lot in a very short time...your images are truly amazing.
