My newest (visible) scar. Amazing that they can do neck surgery through this little incision. Pretty soon, you'll barely be able to see it at all. So I thought I'd better document it now! Plus, this is what I do when I can't go out shooting: I take pictures of myself! :)

I was debating whether it was a scar that's on your neck - until I saw your description update (I responded and gave my first props way too quickly! ) You can hardly tell it is a scar.

That looks like it will heal very quickly. It looks like a tiny scratch, however, I'm not sure I want to feel the discomfort. :( Speedy recovery! x

It sure is nice to have you back. We should all be so lucky to have such a beautiful back up subject to shoot when we cant go out to take pictures. :-)

I celebrate the scars we all carry - both inside and out. I have plenty of both.

    Hi Laurie,
Anterior Cervical Fusion? I can relate to this...I had it done twice so I have the other side to this cut. The 2nd time was the charm and am no longer a pain in the... Peace and be well Laurie. David

Self portraits require no bothering of ANYONE else - they are the way to go! Too bad we all don't look AS GOOD AS YOU taking them, though! Even your MOM is gorgeous!!!! Very nice shot - sorry about the surgery.

You are more brave than I. I have never taken a photo of myself which I was happy with. I always think I look bad. (Maybe I just don't like my looks. But I'm too old to care anymore.)

I once heard someone say "Scars are tattoos with better stories." I like to think of them that way. :)
