Pigott Building, Hamilton, Ontario (Canada)
This building was considered Hamilton's first ever skyscraper/tall building. Built in 1928-29 and standing 18 stories tall and 210 feet high, it was home to the legendary Pigott Construction Company, based in Hamilton. Pigott constructed landmarks such as the Hamilton Public Library, Copps Coliseum, and the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls.
The building was converted to condominiums in the 1980's...in Jan. 2008 the 1,800+ sq. ft. 2 story Penthouse (with 32 windows) was listed for sale at $549,900 (CAD) - the original construction of the building cost $1,000,000 (CAD)
