Anyone who's been to the White House Sub Shop in Atlantic City, N.J., would probably agree that they serve the best subs in the world, It's been there since the '40s. Its charming hostess may have been there since the '40s too. A woman of few words, it's rare that she gets a moment to reflect and remove her mind from booth-filling. Even on a Monday in January. This was one of those moments.
