This is another shot from my trip to Mt. Rainer National Park in Washington on 5/4/2008. Taken on Paradise Road.

Yes very nice image. I'm a bit of a snowbird so I just love pics like this. Your tones are quite good and the convert to bw works very well here.

is this really not hdr? It looks like it. More power to you if you can make those highlights and shadows so perfect. Well done.

Nope not HDR. It is however about 60 layers, masked and doged and burned with contrast changes individually. A very manual application of Ansels Zone approach to developing images.

Looks like there's a face in the sky in the top left. I'm looking close, can't quite make it out... is it the ghost of Ansel Adams...?
