Phuket Omen.

Phuket, Thailand.

Although I shot this with a fisheye Zeiss lens ten years ago, I felt a foreboding. The small resort town discovered by backpackers in the mid70's had been exploding in development. Large Thai hotel chains assuming management of small family run cabanas, while improving amenities had seemingly despoiled the beaches as well as raised the tariff. Modernized, Phuket lost its innocence.

the complex array of colors and patterns creates a disconcerning chaos to the eye. It's a captivating and beautiful sight. Great capture!

I agree w/ Nicholas; there is an intensity to this photo that does not seem natural; I don't think its your capture; I think its the subject matter + narrative
