Barn built & painted by my grandfather and his twin brother.
All captures from this series were taken one week before 2008 Spring planting; 7 - 9pm as sun set on the small farming community. It is common for the sky to fade to pink, the apricot then purple this time of year. It rained most of day, stopping around 5pm. ** Captured using Kodak Ultramax (800) film. (No filters/No post processing other than crop on #2 pic)
In the Barns of Southern Indiana photo essay.

Did they paint the happy face? And how did you ever get that sky? Sweet shot.

Thank you all, much appreciated - they did paint it; To know why the barn is so happy, you'd need to hear the stories of my gpa Kandi; When the sun begins to set this time of year, the sky first turns pink, into orange, into purple and usually into a fiery red; we had also just had a rain the day of this shot
