The weekend mud races have become a favorite past-time in the south. No longer just a romp in the woods, its now a spectacle for bringing the lawn chairs and the whole family down to watch their friends try not to get stuck! Most of those who attend aren't participants, but simply enjoy socializing and being entertained by the chaos. Although there are typically as many as a dozen trucks, jeeps and the occasional car trying to zig-zag their way through the mud at the same time, there's always one that draws the attention of onlookers as he or she looses the fruitless battle against the terrain.
