Well J., There's a place on Martha's Vineyard called The Black Dog which started making T-shirts with a Black Lab silhouette on them that sold like hot cakes. Some enterprising person started a store on Martha's Vineyard called the Bad Dog showing a Black Lab about to do his business and what da ya know they sold well too.

Isn't referring to JPG as the rag a little sacrilegious *Peggy Sue*? However, if you get some Mardi Gras beads and say three "Hail, Hail Rock 'n Rolls" I'm sure the JPG gods will be mollified.

I'm thinkin..now that Leno has planned on passing the torch next year..maybe there is still time for you to send on your resume'..I mean what has anyone out there in TV writer land got that you couldn't give them a good run for their money..especially after reading your latest "creation"..you'd have them rollin' in the aisles..oh, and BTW..you could wear this outfit..its perfect.for late nite TV...

Very nice, I should have had you for a teacher - maybe I would have graduated high school knowing how to read and spell.. I had some very nice teachers, but no one stopped to figure out why I could not read... one vrave 3rd grade teacher asked me to stay back and take 3rd grade over... but then I moved and went to another school and they were puzzled with me - why I could answer aby question they asked me, but I could not spell it or read it... Good thing I was tall and copy the short smart kid in front of me.
Thank you to the teachers! the real teachers who stop look and really listen.
Nice story John!
Thank you for your comments on my photos!!! -

Somehow, this all passed me by in a moment of intense spaciness. So: I love the essay and the picture, I laughed out loud (at the essay, not the picture), and went back and read the other essay, which I enjoyed very much as well. You have a wonderfully elliptical mind!

you can tell you're married here - there's a crease in your blue jeans and your tshirt is ironed....
-
John Linton said (24 Jul 2008):
Actually Peggy I don't iron my pants or t-shirts. I carefully fold the pants and put them in my draw one on top of the other and they iron themselves...same with the t-shirts.

Still love the photo (I think you should crop and use it for your avatar, personally) and loved the retirement speech as well. How did they react when you thumbed your nose at them? I'm happy to see that you still up and posting; I'd heard this week that the highest ever blood alcohol count had been posted by some guy in RI but didn't catch the name..........had to check that you hadn't been out "frenzying" for that perfect jpg entry........

YO NO SOY YO by Juan Ramon Jimenez
Soy este
que va a mi lado sin yo verlo;
que, a veces, voy a ver,
y que, a veces, olvido.
El que calla, sereno, cuando hablo,
el que perdona, dulce, cuando odio,
el que pasea por donde no estoy,
el que quedará en pié cuando yo muera.
