What is to be a modern monk? A question I was trying to find picturing this monk from Rakanji Temple in Tokyo.
For many people in Japan right now - monk has an image of a person that appears on funerals and asks for money on the street.
But for me a monk of our time is someone who is still trying to find out that the spiritual and human values are best cure for society that is in economical and sexual rush.

His name is Suenaga. I asked him to think of a biggest secret that he had in his life while shooting this portrait.
