Wild West
Seanie Blue asked me what our west coast looks like in winter. Feel the wind and dampness of this picture and remove 10 degrees and I think you'd hit what it looks like in the West Coast of the South Island. I'd love to go there.
This photo was taken on Auckland's west coast, which has black iron sand. I was there in October 2007 which is almost Spring but not quite. It was wild and exciting in its energy. I was the only one on the beach bar a tourist couple and their two Dalmatians who were really enjoying the beach.

of all the hangouts, i find this one the most splendid. The fog, coast, and wildness makes me want to bring my sleeping bag & just lie down for a bit
