wonderful shot! ugh how I dream of a ring light.
how did you make it if you dont mind me asking?

  • Gabe Maxson

Gabe Maxson said (26 May 2008):

    Gabriel, here's the specs:
3/8" plywood cut in two 3.25"-wide semi-circles (using saber-saw), joined with 1/2" ply keystones. 2" holesaw to create holes for 9 standard medium-base sockets (threaded pressure-held type) . Nine 25W high-temp inexpensive compact-fluorescent bulbs. 4 cube-tap recepticles. Cost ~ 95 bucks. Works incredibly well. Extremely bright (almost obnoxiously so, if you're the subject.) Very little heat, low energy consumption (less than 250W).
