This photo was taken on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. There was a outdoor market going on at the time. It's always so strange to see a street in New York without automobile traffic. It just seemed to evoke a time long ago, when people spent their time on stoops and street corners, creating a community rather than just living in a city. Conversely, what smacks of New York more so than organized commerce.
