Also, if you were to go into your Nikon menu and change the flash sync to "AUTO FP", you will be able to use your SB-600, SB-800 or SB-900 with a sync speed of up to 1/8000 as well.
You won't need a Canon flash in that mode, however you will have to continue shooting in Manual mode, and I would strongly suggest setting your flash to it's maximum power level, and maybe zooming the light to it's full potential because you are sure to loose 2-stops or more, of flash power at such a high speed.
