My heroes are those everyday people who do kind things for others.

The image was taken with a Nikon F100 an 80-200 lens. The image was scanned and contrast enhanced in photoshop.

Very nice image. Not the usual shot of a homeless/street person. You've captured something much more human (humane?) and interesting. Fabulous!

so much I love about this beautiful image. The pov, comp, how you've kept the dignity of the homeless man by not blatantly setting the camera on him. The woman's gesture seems almost motherly. Thank you for sharing. Best I've seen today!

I don't think there are enough of these kind of photo's around. We always see the photos of the needy with their hands out, but not enough of someone putting something they need in their hand. Thanks for sharing and what a powerful message. God bless you and people like you.

Absolutely one of the best photos submitted to theme. It says it all; the b&w is perfect; the exposure and composition are right on. I am envious.

  • William Tracy

William Tracy said (20 Jan 2010):

The image's power comes from removing both the giver and receiver. All that remains is the act. This context defines the act. Influenced by 10 years of work with street criminals I could just as easily see this as a drug buy.
