Temporary Settlement, South Africa
South Africa continues to try to define itself as a young democracy in the post-Apartheid era. Since Apartheid ended, the townships have dispersed and "temporary" settlements like this are moving closer and closer to the major urban areas. Providing health care and basic living conditions for these citizens is just one of the challenges South Africa faces.

I can't believe you have the whole family logging in to vote for you. This is supposed to be a fourth of July party. I guess that fits with the theme, though, so people shouldn't be too pissed off. And if they are, that's one of the pitfalls of democracy.
