Washington Square Park, NYC

One of the many reasons I love living in NYC is for the continuous spectrum of personas and personalities. On the hottest and most humid day of the year, this gentleman took Q&A on Catholicism from his audience of three. Washington Square Park was uncharacteristically empty due to construction. And yet, it was though he had found the one and only natural canopy in the city, free of distractions, quiet and still. I could have been standing in Georgia, the Amazon, or the Holy Land itself had it not been for the upright piano rolled into the park minutes later, ragtime music weaving in and out of lines of scripture and the wooing of mating pigeons.
