averting natural disaster, I quit smoking (and drinking) in 2002 when my brother passed away and I began having heart and lung issues.

awesome photo and statement. good for you for quitting. i just recently quit smoking for the like the umteenth time. but hopefully it'll stick this time. awesome for you to have quit though! sorry for your loss of your brother. :(

good for you Peggy when I people ask me how long I've been off cigarettes or fags as we call them here I say 'oh about three stone'...I did the drinking too which I found considerably easier but not as socially acceptable or appreciated in Ireland..weird...

thanks rory. substance abuse in general has cast a grave cloud over my family several times over and I hate that the substances are so forced on us purely for economic profit of another.
