Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

This is one of my first infrared photographs. I used an unmodified Panasonic FZ30 and a generic 850nm filter. The photograph is one of a series that I took using various filters and camera settings.

The building shown is a reconstructed mission. The location and dimensions of the original mission are unknown. A preservation group constructed this replica near what is believed to be the mission's original site.
