Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

Now, I know Lens flare is Taboo, or at very least a Technical photographic Fopah, or at very least maybe it's just trite. I personally think it's Bad Ass, and in some cases it may serve as a really good compositional tool, like selective focus. Not saying this is a great example.
