I can't stop flipping between this one and the one in color. I love this too, but, I'm amazed as a B&W fan, that there's something about the subdued yellow tones in the other with the brass(?) plate and the "blue" (which to me must just be the difference in the effects of light around the corner of the wall making it seem blue).

All right, J. - you're right. I keep going back to this and I'm on a different computer now and the B&W looks much more artistic than viewing from my old laptop for some reason.

Given how many more positive hits i get when I switch to black and white, Mr Harris has turned me into a convert...Natalie i am flattered beyond words that you have taken such a liking to this humble amateurs stuff...

Jason, this is a great photo in b&w or in color, with wonderful and interesting lighting.. But I like it best in b&w too. For me, color makes most pictures a little too specific. I think color works best if the subject really is the color itself. A B&W image draws the viewers focous to the tones, textures, and composition and gives the subject more gravity. I struggle with the decision to go one way or the other all the time. B&W usually wins out. Thanks for giving us both images to enjoy.
