Hiking on an old rail trail by myself I parked my canon on a rock and went for a back lit shot. Hat kept ugly shadows off my face. I added blue filter post processing in PS..This may be a little to dark..Any advice is greatly accepted...

I like the darkness...try adjusting the exposure...backlight is difficult.

I like it too Jason. The light on your shoulders is beautiful - I like the shadows on your face because it's just enough to see your features, but the eyes are a slight mystery. I really like your stance.

I reduce middletones associated with digital images sometimes, and sometimes I use a fill flash outdoors...but I like your darkness here.
