Every year the Sullivan family holds a vigil on Route 40 in Ellicott City, Maryland. They remind everyone that a destructive decision by a drunk driver killed their son and father.

William-- She had a previous record for DUI. She was not correctly charged and due to errors in the citation she received a very light sentence. Because she was pregnent at time she was sentenced she served no jail time as I recall.

Very powerful and moving, my co-worker was recently hit by a drunk 19yr old who was on the wrong side of the road with no lights at night. Everyone survived but later found out that this was her third offense, the first had been at 16. Very sad.

What a powerful documentary-type photo. You might think about sending this to MADD. Maybe they could use it in their promotional material.
I'm so sorry for the family's loss.

Martie -- Thanks so much for commenting. I am a volunteer for MADD and they have a number of pictures that I have taken for them during the past several years.

Wow... pregnant and drunk. Nice combo. So sad for the family. They will never be the same and will always feel robbed of the time they could have had but not for such a STUPID decision by the driver. .

Yes, Jason -- but all forgotten except for the Sullivan family -- they remember in spite of those that don't.
