I focused on the words some idiot/comedian wrote on this white painted area on the wall: NO DIRTY HIPPIES. I risked blurring his face to get the message that was written, for you see, the place is full of nothing BUT! I had smelled a famliar "burning leaf" odor, and it trailed back to this guy. Sure, he said it was clover, but, well, who am I to specify herbs? Then I saw the sign, AND him, with his hippified dread locks and glazed expression. He was so sweet, too, to pose for me, and I thought he was darling - young, havng fun. The irony was too priceless to leave undocumented. The writing's on the wall: No Dirty Hippies! And that's why I put it in this category.
This is a gelatin silver print, taken with a Hasselblad and Tri-X film, scanned.

Nice work. This is just perfect. I have a hippy shot posted which was made in Frisco in 1968. I like your shot very much.

Dude, where did I leave my car? Kinda Rasta with those dreads. A little Irish Spring wouldn't hurt. He sure looks lost.

Ah, Laura, I know you didn't buy that "clver" nonsense for a minute! This reminds me of the times when my boyfriend and I couldn't get served in a Nashville cafe because of his "dirty hippie" looks.
