An inscription on a Naval museum in Vallejo, CA. I've been looking for things like it since, but to me this is a finer representation of democracy than any flag can encompass.
Democracy is not about freedom per se, or the rights that we have, but a shared responsibility, a shared say in how we govern ourselves.
