It's impossible to sum up New York City in a single photograph. I think it's even difficult to sum up this great city in a whole body of work. Take ten shots from ten photographers, and you have one hundred different pictures of one hundred different aspects of what makes New York unique. Once you get past the landmarks and cliche shots, a photographic journey through the city becomes a truly personal journey. There are millions of stories happening every single day; one of the greatest things about living here is that just by traveling a few blocks, you feel like you travel to another world.
In this shot, I take a step back and try to breathe it all in as I look at my new home from a distance. Summertime in the city is hot and hazy, and often proceeds at a lazier pace. Since the city often runs in fast forward compared to other places, slowing down for even a second reminds you how grand and wonderful life here can be.

Wow, beautiful! Love the position of the sun, and it almost looks like all of these people are posing for you. They're all in the perfect spots.
