the pronouncement of the sea
"The sea pronounces something, over and over, in a hoarse whisper; I cannot quite make it out." ~Annie Dillard
I recently went though my rather large box of prints - I can't believe I have so many after shooting film again for only, what? a period of 15 months or so - and discovered a few that I had discarded the first time around. This one I probably deemed 'unworthy' due to its lack of sharpness; now, however, I've decided that I like it despite, and maybe because of, that softness. That, and because it's of Cape Kiwanda, one of the most beautiful spots of coastline I've ever seen.
Finding this image, of this place, is definitely making me crave the beach and the ocean again.
Taken with my Zero Image 2000, exposure of only a few seconds (I believe).

For me, this one is not about the focus, but the feeling created by the light and the waves.

Perfect composition and the soft focus combined with the powerful vista are very attractive. The mix of earthtones and blues is special. You made a great find.

i love this image... i think the softness of the water really makes this shot work, along with the angle of the photo and the arch. wonderful shot.
